James "Troy" Greer

My name is James “Troy” Greer and I am originally from Houston, TX. Beginning in 2003 I made my home in the Austin, TX area, and finally, beginning in 2020, I have resided in the greater Texarkana area. In 1993, I graduated with a B.S. in accounting from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. After working at the firm of Murray E Taylor CPA for 8 years I decided to hang out a shingle and I started my own tax practice, officing at 11811 East Freeway, Houston, TX for the next 20 years. Beginning in 2022 I have worked remotely from my home office in the greater Texarkana area, this works great as my clients are spread out all over the state of Texas, and beyond.

I am licensed by the Internal Revenue Service, and in order to retain my license I must complete minimum continuing education requirements. These requirements include education that keeps me current on issues regarding tax rules, ethical conduct, and data security. My office couldn’t operate without the help of my partner, friend, and wife Amy Greer.
